There’s a reason why A-list celebrities and billionaires prefer having villas at Lake Como. This list includes George Clooney, Richard Branson, the Russian billionaire Arkady Novikov, and a number of other well-kept secret celebrity hideaways. With all the money and influence in the world, these busy A-listers could spend their time and find relaxation anywhere on the planet.

A lover of style, beauty and all that is Italian, this post was made in collaboration with Chloe Meyer.
So why did they choose Lake Como?
While not all of us can afford to have our own villas, you only really need to visit once in order to appreciate this lake’s natural beauty. Lake Como is 28 miles of pure, natural tranquillity. Surrounded by the gorgeously verdant mountains of Italy, small villages that dot the hills, and panoramic views from every direction, Lake Como is a must-see for anyone who’s looking for a little balance in their life.
You don’t even need to buy your own waterfront villa just to take a much-needed retreat at this paradise on earth. It only costs ten euros to enter Lido de Lenno, a sandy artificial beach complete with gazebos, drinks and snacks, and easy access to the refreshing waters of the lake. Don’t let the term “artificial” fool you – it only refers to the fact that sand was brought to that part of Lake Como. Apart from that, Lido de Lenno provides an all-natural retreat from your worries back home.
There’s also Monte Barro near Lecco at the east side of the lake, which we’ve written about here before on Lake Como Style. This is one of the nicest places to take a hike and appreciate the natural Italian landscape. If you explore this area around Late October, you can enjoy picking up the chestnuts or castagne that naturally fall on the ground, still covered by their fuzzy, light brown shells. You can either boil, roast, or grill these chestnuts for an even more memorable stay at the lake.
If you’re looking for more of an escape, there’s the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni. Nestled on the waterfront, this large and opulent villa is home to gardens of camellias and magnolias. According to The Telegraph, this hotel also features a well-equipped spa that offers services like Turkish baths, Ayurveda massages, shea butter facials, and thalasso seaweed wraps. It also has its own private stretch of beach, an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, two outdoor tennis courts, and a squash court. It’s the perfect place to release some stress and bring some balance to your otherwise hectic life.
A visit to Lake Como is more than just a vacation. It’s a retreat – an escape from the stressful elements that pervade our every day lives. As we use nearly all our energy for work and career, we can sometimes become too stressed or anxious, and can even suffer from insomnia. Leesa informs claims that insomnia can cause you to have a negative view of life and affect your memories. This can cause imbalances that can affect both your life as well as your career.
