Although Il Giardino is not in the center of town, it is well worth the taxi ride or 25 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. A traditional restaurant run by the Sesana family, the minute you walk in the door Laura or another member of the family will meet you with a smile. You can smell the homemade cooking and hear the busy sounds of the kitchen. The head chef, Paolo Sesana, a.k.a “Padella” (Sauce pan) decides the menu daily. You shouldn’t leave Lecco without trying his best dishes on the menu; Polenta e Stinco (Corn meal and Pork roast), Gnocchi di Zucca (pumpkin and potato pasta) and fabulous homemade desserts and cakes, as well as a variety of seasonal specials made of fresh, locally grown produce, meats, cheeses and regional wines.Il Giardino is our absolute favourite restaurant in Lecco don’t leave without trying it!
