What’s involved in planning a wedding on Lake Como?

Most weddings in Italy take place in churches or town halls, but if you are thinking of holding a ceremony and reception party at one of the luxurious villas along the shores of Lake Como, you will need to have the right connections. Here are some of the amazing wedding venues on Lake Como, where newlyweds exchange their vows, creating an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Villa Balbianello

Built at the end of the 1700s, this property has long been a location for gorgeous weddings. The villa is filled with stunning interiors and a selection of art pieces collected by the last owner, Duke Guido Monzino. Here, couples can celebrate with their guests within a palace enriched with history and a breath-taking view of the lake and the green mountains that surround the entire area. Couples can organize weddings with a minimum of ten guests to a maximum of 150.

Villa Regina Teodolinda

Locate in the small town of Laglio, famous for being the community where George Clooney’s house, Villa Oleandra is located, is also the area where we can find the picturesque landscape of Villa Regina Teodolinda. Couples can celebrate with a maximum of 80 guests, and they can either choose between celebrating a religious, civil, or symbolic wedding ceremony. The event can start with a gorgeous ceremony in the garden facing the lake and then end with a marvelous dinner in front of the façade of the Villa.

Here, the bride and groom can celebrate with a maximum of 200 guests on the famous Darsena, and a terrace with an open space allowing wedding planners to create different sets and layouts. Famous for its Italian-style gardens, a beautiful stairway facing the lake, and a botanical collection of hundreds of plants, the area is filled with picturesque places to celebrate the ceremony. The bride and groom can choose among outdoor and indoor areas such as the terrace with a lake view or the various halls where the couple can pose for their wedding photoshoot. Located in Cernobbio, Villa d’Este, was the holiday residence of 16th century Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio before being transformed into a luxury hotel. Villa Erba

Also located in the little town of Cernobbio, is the beautiful Villa Erba. The building, constructed at the end of the 1800s, is ideal for a romantic wedding. Its location is secluded and far from the residential areas which are great for parties and events hosting live music.
