This is by far the best view of the lake and one of the most relaxing places for a meal. It truly is a magical place. You can go for a coffee, a quick business lunch, a drink or dinner.
The Canotieri Rowing Club of Lecco is a membership club, but if you call in advance to make a reservation at the restaurant they will accommodate you as best as possible.

Vegetarian choices are also available.They pride themselves in being 100% Italian; using local meats, craft beers and even the cola is a national brand. Decorated with trendy, pseudo-urban-industrial furnishings and vintage style sofas and cinema chairs. L’ek is dialect for Lake and is the new bistro in Piazza XX Settembre under the eastern portico.It’s small and cozy with contemporary furnishings and an open view kitchen. Outdoor dining is also available.The menu offers vegetarian, meat and fish dishes, all made with fresh ingredients. They have a very good selection of homemade Lievitazioni (pizza breads).

Set in Lecco’s historical center Bar Centrale is a Cafe, pastery shop, also serving lunch and happy hour cocktails. You can go at any time of the day for something to eat, snack on or just have a coffee and read the newspaper. All year long you will find Giovanni Stassi’s pastery creations, but if you are lucky enough to visit during a holiday try a seasonal speciality: November – pan dei morti, December, Christmas- pan d’oro and panatone, February, Carnevale- le chiacchiere, April, Easter- fresh chocolates and pasteries, May to October – gelato, fresh ice cream.
Bar Centrale is one of our favourite hang-outs. It’s right in the center of town and you can’t resist the window display of yummy pasteries.

In a renovated villa overlooking Pecarenico’s historic Piazza Era, a key location in Manzoni’s “The Betrothed”, the Soqquardo offers a unique triple style menu of Mediterranean, health food and gourmet cuisine. Each style has appetizers, pastas and meats as well as pizzas to choose from, many of which can be ordered in tapas portions. The modern decor is a fresh contrast to the antique brick facade. The newly renovated plaza and evening lighting adds to the romantic atmosphere Manzoni evoked in his classic novel.

Good quality and fair prices. Good for meat and fish. All breads, pizza and past are all homemade. The decor is “artistic pub style” and in the summer there is great outdoor dining in the garden along the river. Try the Risotto al pesce persico (fresh perch with risotto) or the Spezzatino con polenta (stewed meat and polenta).

Lecco’s only authentic Nepalese restaurant located in Pescarenico near the church. Walking in to the gate you enter a simple patio garden lit with torches to guide you through the courtyard to the entrance where warm light and red walls envelope you and welcome you in. A friendly face is always waiting to accompany you to your table. The furniture and art was done by Milanese artist and adds to the warm atmosphere. There is a separate small dining area with low tables and cushions for casual dining. You can choose from a wide selection of traditional dishes or a pre-selected menu to try a little of everything. Kathmandu is recommended for the cuisine connoisseur or if it is your first time trying Nepalese food, you won’t be disappointed.

Note: Il Giardino is a 25 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio, but well worth it!
Although Il Giardino is not in the center of town, it is well worth the taxi ride or 25 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. A traditional restaurant run by the Sesana family, the minute you walk in the door Laura or another member of the family will meet you with a smile. You can smell the homemade cooking and hear the busy sounds of the kitchen. The head chef, Paolo Sesana, a.k.a “Padella” (Sauce pan) decides the menu daily. You shouldn’t leave Lecco without trying his best dishes on the menu; Polenta e Stinco (Corn meal and Pork roast), Gnocchi di Zucca (Pumpkin and potato pasta) and fabulous homemade desserts and cakes, as well as a variety of seasonal specials made of fresh, locally grown produce, meats, cheeses and regional wines. The social meeting point at the Tennis Club Lecco, La Barrique has a comfortable and hospitable atmosphere. There is also outdoor dinning overlooking the tennis courts. Even if you don’t play tennis, it’s a great place to hang out for drinks and/or a delicious meal.
